The Eden Valley lies on the eastern side of the Barossa region with heights up to 600m above sea level. With its high elevation, this valley is recognized as one of Australia’s premium areas for growing fine Riesling grapes. This wine is another outstanding dry Riesling made by Christa Deans, made with fruit grown in her own very own vineyard.
Pale straw in colour, Christa's Riesling is quite perfumed, with highlights of the inevitable lemon and lime indicative of this varietal. Expresses lovely rose floral & candied musk on the nose. Good acidity lifts the crisp, fresh palate, leaving a finish of lemon peel with zesty lime.
Christa has the ability to produce white wines with the perfect balance of fruit and acid. Enjoy this Riesling while young and fresh, or store some bottles in the cellar for great drinking in 10+ years.
White winemaker, Christa Deans spent time in the Champagne district of France working with delicate white wines, as well as Wolf Blass as winemaker responsible for whites. Her soft touch and delicacy with the elegance of white wine is truly expressed here, as with all the wines she makes.
“A crisp, elegant style, exhibiting a fresh aroma with hints of fresh lemon and lime. The sensation of abundant citrus characters offers a youthful and fresh palate with good depth of fruit and drying acidity.”
