The new crew is about three weeks into the 2010 vintage season, and it's nice to see they are all still smiling. This is because the weather has been luxuriously cool (and quite liveable) which means the grapes are ripening slowly, drawing up the goodness from the soil, and not suffering from any adverse weather conditions, such as heatwaves and floods.

The 2009 vintage is ageing quietly in the barrels, and we were impressed with that vintage. This one is similar as far as the weather and ripening of the berries.

Rolf Binder, winemaker extraordinaire, has been heard to comment on this vintage on many occasions. "It's f$#%ing good, so far".

Touch oak.
