Veritas Petite Sirah

The 2009 vintage allowed me to take in a nice parcel of Petite Sirah from my mate Andy. I like doing unusual things, particularly when the result will reflect the vineyard, the variety and the vintage. Andy alerted me that he had never seen his bunches of Petite Sirah look so healthy, with vibrant glowing red-purple hues, and was of the opinion they would make something extra-ordinary. He was right and if ever you wanted an example of a wine being made in the vineyard, well here you have it. What a wine it is, being deeply coloured with flashing purples and crimson colours, and powerful, ripe and tannic flavours which tell me it will take prolonged cellaring.
